Dear Friends,
All group yoga classes at Enlighten Wellness Yoga have been suspended. We are following the recommendations of the CDC, WHO and Yoga Alliance and have suspended group yoga classes to support efforts to control the spread of COVID-19. We will be closed until at least April 30th as we closely monitor the situation and the recommendations of public health experts and agencies.
We will update you periodically and notify you with the date we will reopen as soon as we are satisfied that normal operations will not be a threat to the wellness of our community of practice.
In the meantime, we encourage you to engage in a personal yoga practice at home to reduce stress and increase your resiliency during this challenging time. Use your technology to reach out and stay connected to friends and loved ones, and perhaps even try an
online yoga class to keep you motivated.
Wishing you well,
Tanja and Mark

Ongoing Yoga Classes
Hatha Yoga and Mindfulness - Monday at 10:00 am (Diane)
This class approaches yoga as a practice of mindfulness, the attentive unfolding and fine tuning of each moment. Each class explores the "music" of yoga--the rhythms of the body; the melodies of the heart; the joyful harmony of body, mind, and spirit. This practice also attends to breath and alignment as means of opening energy channels in the body and experiencing ease and comfort in the poses.
Nourishing Gentle Yoga - Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30am (Matece)
In this class, foundational yoga postures are practiced to strengthen and promote flexibility in the body with an emphasis on physical alignment. Breathing techniques and meditation are also integrated. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity and ease of movement. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals, as we explore the body’s range of motion with standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers. A great class for beginners as well as students seeking a more introspective approach to their yoga practice.
Nourishing Yin Yoga- Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00am (Matece)
Enjoy the feelings of rejuvenation and steadiness that arise from a Yin Yoga practice as you slow down, move from noise to silence, from agitation to calm, from complexity to simplicity. This practice integrates the ancient Yoga teachings with Meridian Theory as taught in Chinese Medicine. Engage the body’s natural healing power as you actively nourish and harmonize the body's vital life force or chi. As the whole body rests and opens with long held poses, the natural healing power of chi is used to rejuvenate and repair the area of focus.
Gentle Yoga - Wednesday at 10:00 am (Lily)
This yoga practice is designed to bring a bit of tranquility to your day. Through basic and intermediate yoga poses, you will find greater freedom of movement, build strength and flexibility, and improve your balance. You will develop a better understanding of your physical body, the breath, and the mind-body connection that takes yoga to a deeper level. You will also learn techniques that take yoga beyond the mat and into your daily life. This class will include instruction appropriate for beginners but will also benefit those with previous yoga experience.
Chair Yoga - Wednesday at 11:30 am (Lily)
Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing and using a chair for support. This class is designed for those who prefer not to get down on the floor. One benefit of chair yoga is that it can be practiced almost anywhere! You will learn skills and techniques that can easily transfer to daily living. We will explore mindful breathing and guided relaxation along with seated and standing yoga poses that can increase flexibility and improve strength. Each class includes poses and stretches to support a balanced state of strength, stability, flexibility, and improved posture.
All are welcome!
Yoga Core - Friday at 10:00 am (Allana)
Yoga Core is a unique and enjoyable blend of yoga asanas and core exercises drawn from Pilates and dance conditioning. Awareness of breath co-ordination and alignment is emphasized to ensure a safe practice while getting the most out of the exercises to develop strength, flexibility and integration. Visual aids and clear verbal instruction, help support understanding the nature and function of the body systems. This class is appropriate for able-bodied beginners as well as more experienced practitioners. Variations are presented to help you adapt to your fitness level. Allana’s teaching is grounded in 40 years of Hatha practice and over 30 years of teaching yoga, dance, fitness and Pilates, deeply influenced by Body-Mind Centering.
Gentle Yoga Flow - Sunday at 5:00 pm (Denise)
This is a gentle, mindful class structured around rejuvenating and healing the body. The gentle flowing movements create a calming and stress-relieving space to explore, ground, and center yourself. Emphasis is on building awareness of the breath and the body and using the practice of yoga as a means of listening to the truths of our bodies rather than just the "shoulds" of our brains. Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner, there is something here for you.
